M I C H A E L   K A T Z

Michael uses a highly animated style of storytelling. His stories include multicultural folktales, original tales, and personal narratives. His approach to storytelling creates a sweet relationship between audience and teller; his telling comes from the heart. He has been working as a storyteller for the past 15 years.

Founding member of BOXTALES storytelling/theatre troupe, which has been selected to the California Arts Councial Touring Artists Roster. BOXTALES tours extensively throughout California and is the recipient of the Independent Theatre Award.

Producer and host of the family radio storytelling program Katz Pajamas heard on public radio station KCSB FM 91.9 in Santa Barbara and on 89.9 KCBX in San Luis Obispo.

7 time recipient of Santa Barbara Arts Commission Grants to teach storytelling in the schools as well as live and radio storytelling to adults and children through the Santa Barbara Library System.

Artistic Director for the annual Flying Leap Storytelling Festival In Solvang and the Once Upon a Wednesday Storytelling Series in Santa Barbara.
