Rauch, and David Ross, Milot Ha'Nefesh is a trio whose performances you will not soon forget. With songs based on everything from Biblical texts to modern day issues confronting us as Jews, Milot Ha'Nefesh entertains audiences in synagogues, religious schools, day schools, and Campus Hillels with original Jewish Music to inspire people of all ages. They have recently released their debut album entitled "Words of the Soul."
For over 22 years, David Ross has been entertaining the world with his dynamic voice, distinguished piano playing, and creative songwriting. Both David's secular and contemporary Jewish music has been played and performed throughout California, Arizona, New York, New Mexico, Florida, Michigan, and Massachusetts, as well as internationally in Canada, Mexico, Russia, France, and Israel. David's music combines elements of rock, pop, folk, and jazz to create a mixture of fresh and engaging sounds.
David acted as assistant music director for the Yad B'Yad Performing Arts Troupe in 1995-1996 and he currently serves as Cultural Arts Director for Camp Ramah in California. In 1998, a professional album of David's music entitled "Beyond the Hills" was released. David holds a B.A. in Music Composition from U.C. Berkeley and a Certificate of
Songwriting from U.C.L.A. His music has become increasingly popular over the years to a large, devoted fan base of children and adults.
Micha Liberman began his professional musical career as a song leader
for Camp Young Judea in Wimberley, Texas. He went on to receive a degree in music from Binghamton University in New York and he has since made music his full-time job working as a composer for television and film. Micha has worked on such television shows as Seinfeld, Caroline in the City, The Naked Truth, and such films as I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Office Space, and Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Micha's love of Jewish music has never wavered and he brings this love, his unique voice, and his creative songwriting and diverse musical styles to Milot Ha'Nefesh.
Suzy Rauch, originally of Dallas, Texas, found her love for Jewish music while attending Camp Young Judaea in Wimberley, Texas and Camp Tel Yehudah in Barryville, NY between 1983-1989. She continued the Young Judaea experience by going on Year Course in 1989-1990, and being a camp counselor and Senior Advisor for the movement between 1990-1996. Suzy graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994 with a Fine Arts degree in Theater, and was a member of the Long Horn Singers, as well as the a cappella group Ensemble 109. Suzy currently works for Disney Feature Animation in the Camera Department. She has worked on the films Tarzan, Fantasia 2000, and Dinosaur.
Suzy moved to Los Angeles in 1995, where she met David Ross while working for United Synagogue Youth. From the start of their friendship, David, Suzy, and Micha talked of doing something to combine their love of Judaism and music. Finally, the three of them came up with a plan, and Milot Ha'Nefesh was established in the fall of 1998.
