Special Thanks: This is the first year, the genesis, of the Santa Barbara Jewish Connection. It evolved from GAP (Grads and young Professionals) that Melanie Sasson began though UCSB Hillel. Prior to the establishment of this group there was no consistent focal point for the young professional Jewish people in the tri-counties area. Below are the first volunteers, the SBJC pioneers, that spent many hours meeting and planning to determine the direction and focus of this now very successful group. Thanks to Melody Meisel who lead the group with great vision and creativity during this time and to Melanie Sasson who was the essential cohesive element that pointed the group into the future.
